WOW!!! Where do I begin?? Altere Ego began last spring as an idea in my head while standing in line at Joanns Fabric store, buying a canvas to paint on. While waiting I said a littel prayer in my mind, " I need something more, something else, help me find it" while waiting I saw a magazine called Altered Coture, picked it up and was awe struck at the idea of upcycling clothes, GENIUS I thought and how fun! So I bought the magazine and went on a shopping binge all over town to purchase all the fun stuff to replicate what they had done, I get home and realize I didn't have a sewing machine! So that was my next purchase! I really thought I would be the next Versace overnight! Oh not so! It took me over an hour to thread the needle and fill the bobin!
I did what they did and then I altered a jean skirt, then Matt ( my now fiance! We are getting married in 11 days!) Told me I should sell the skirts at Country Jam, so I whipped out a few hundred skirts in the nesxt month, rented a booth with my AMAZING friend Mary Sautter and we did FEATHERED HAIR EXTENSIONS and sold a ton of skirts!
Then I went to an art retreat in the cities with my TALENTED and ARTSY friend Angelea Barribeau. I knew when I walked in that my life was going to change again!
Have you ever felt something so big all around you? So close you can smell it and taste it? That was the moment I knew!!
I was sitting in a class on self- publishing and was really bored to be honest, so I took out my laptop and designed the salon!
Then lookimg for a space when I got back was more challenging than I thought. I finally gave up and said " God I know you have a plan, you know my desires" Then out of the blue I recieved a phone call that changed everything!! Sally said " you don't know me but we have a mutual friend and we were praying about what to do with our buisness and your name came up, can we meet?" WOW!!!
So that's how my dream is coming to pass! Actually God is fullfilling the desires of my heart faster than I can comprehend! I'm marrying a true gentleman that loves my girls like his own, I just moved into a beautiful home,I feel like a princess! And now the SALON/ART STUDIO is coming to life!!
Let me tell you about this place and my vision!
Altered Ego is going to be FUN, ENERGETIC, UPBEAT,CONTEMPORARY and very COOL!
The imagery is going to be the first of it's kind here in the area! Also I have an art room that in the spring I will be starting different classes, hosted by me and other artist! I am most excited for THE HEALING THROUGH ART Class that I will be introducing for women!
Also we will be having FASHION SHOWS to launch the upcycled clothing line for each season!!
I can't reveal EVERYTHING but this is just a glimpse of what is going to come!!
