Okay, it's finally happening! Walk in to the salon and you will smell the LOVELY aroma of coffee with just a hint of fresh paint on the walls! This is a very EXCITING week!!!
For those of you who know me, you know this has been a long awaited dream of mine. Not just the salon,I was happy and content where I was, but the upcoming art studio and the impact it will have on so many people!!
I was at an art retreat last fall and was thinking about all of my lifes passions. Besides the obvious, my faith, family and friends. It is creating, in many forms. Healing. Healing is a journey. We all have hurts and dissapointments, and if you don't I'm almost positive you will at some time, or you live where i used to, in the land of plastc smiling faces. So yes, walking beside someone as they are hurting and journeying with them up the long path of the mountain to just breathe and see the sunshine, that is a passion of mine. So lets combine the two together in one place.
In the late spring I will be starting several different classes. The one I'm most PASSIONATE about will be an art journaling class called THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH OF ME. More details to come as I'm still putting it all together and there will be several make and take classes, book study's, book clubs, and different forms of art taught by other local artist.
I hope for this to be an inteactive blog, you'r comments are appreciated and ideas are very welcome for what you would like to not only see happen but also be apart of!!!1 ( unless it's to correct my grammar!! I know it gives some people the hives! obviously not my best talent! but I'm okay with that!)
The salon will be featuring several very talented hair artist, Becky,Mary, Penny, Sali and myself Destiny.
We SPECIALIZE in many different areas. HAIR EXTENSIONS with the latest technology to create length, volume,color pannels,non damaging, no chemicals, no braiding, no glue,pain free!!
HUES, we have an amazing color pallette from EXOTIC neutrals, to SENSUAL warms, CHOCOLATE covered strawberry to RADIANT reds.
TEXTURE, your hair is a fabric and we will infuse it with the perfect texture for you, to make your mornings easier and of course to make you the HAIR ENVY of all your friends!!!!!! And everyone around you!!!

Altered Ego: WOW!!!!!: WOW!!!!!!! What an awesome week!!!! We have been busy busy busy!!!! The salon looks AMAZING!!!!! Alot of thank yous and teamwork and people ...

Thank you to all of my WONDERFUL friends, SUPPORTIVE family, ENCOURAGING clients!!!! This wouldn't be possible without ALL of you!!!!!
So now I think i definately need an intravenous drip of lattees!!!! WHEW.... Tired and pumped up all at the same time!!
Stop in and say hello, and have a cup of coffee with us!!! We would LOVE to give you a little tour!! I'm pretty sure you will LOVE the GLITTER on the walls and the LIME GREEN chairs!

Transformation of the butterfly
Today the floor is being finished!! Tuesday the electrician will be finishing up his work!! He is from Hot Wire Electric if you need someone that's fast, reliable , trustworthy, and fair! He was a referral from a client/friend,. So important to network togehter!
Seems like we were off to a fast start and slowed down to a crawl, original plan was to be open on the 8th, but that's alright, the new plan is the 20th.
I stopped in today to look around and it amazes me the transformation that is taking place. Awhile back I blogged on my other blogg todayiwillrejoice ,day 15 I AM A BUTTERFLY http://todayiwillrejoice.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-15-i-am-butterfly.html the new salon is like a butterfly. Here is a glimpse at that post:
So I realize Im a buttterfly. I always have been. A big bright yellow, pink and purple butterfly. But I didnt know. I still thought I was a catapillar. I was afraid of what the world and everyone around me would think when they saw me open my wings, and what if they wouldnt fly, what if no one liked the bright loud colors of my wings, but really what if they saw the littel rips in my wings, and knew, what if they really knew I was afraid to fly. So I would test it out when no one was aware, and when I did I was the happiest.But I always still sad inside because I really wanted to be the butterfly but felt oddly comfortable as the catapillar.
But now I know I AM A BUTTERFLY!!!!!!! I was mesant to fly!!!!! AND fly I will!
Today I am thankful not just for my shimmery wings but thankful they have the littel rips and holes in them ,its simply just part of my journey and I am not ashamed! I AM A BUTTERFLY!
Thank you God for creativity and art and thank you for starting me out as a catapillar and taking the time to transform me and color my wings exactly like you wanted.
So the salon is transforming and many butterflys will be fluttering about, please come in and spread your wings and discover the full potential of the beauty that lies within you!!!!

Opening info... making appointments

The google add words add is up and running starting today! YEAH!!!!
If you clicked on it and were directed here, here is the current status.
Remodel is taking a littel longer than expected, target opening date is set for the 20th of January at the latest. However you can still book appointments and consults, I am currently working at RAVIN MANES untill the space is completed. Contact me via this blog or message me on Facebook on the Altered Ego page!!! For immediate appointments call my cell 715-215-1159!!

All coming together!
WOWZER!!! This is exciting!! Watching as my dream unfolds before my eyes! But if it was a dream I probably wouldn't be tired!
So in my mind I thought we could do this over the weekend! Take down a few walls , put new floor over the old and paint pretty sparkels on the walls and install the equipment, how much work can it be right? And I would just show up and have fun after the weekend and do my 'job'!!!
Matt my fabuolus husband was so funny last night! He said to my oldest Angel, " your mom really beleives this in her head! How does she come up with this? Did she not really think it would be ALOT of work?!" A few more funny comments and we are rolling in laughter untill my side hurts! vYES!!!I say proudly! I really didn't think there would be all this 'other' stuff to do!
The 'other stuff' would include scrapping the floors so the new floor will stick, on my hands and knees, but oh so fasionable in my high heels and sparkly jewlery! ( thats what happens when you pop in after work to see the progress and Jeff hands you a scrapper and says get busy)HaHa
And now a sledgehammer has busted the floors up in the back to plumb the new oversized, super comfy shampoo chairs! wasn't expecting that!
Or how about the 6 hours and 7 people to pull up the lobby carpet that had been glued down to cement! but I only broke 1 nail, so its still FABULOUS!!
Finally making progress onpainting and afterwards realize the walls were so oild the new paint bubbled all over, so back to square one and thank you Mom for knowing how to mud and sand the walls!!
But through all of this, I have to be honest, it hasn't been frustrating, and it's been kinda fun. I can't wait to walk in after it's all set up and take a deep breath and think wow, thank you God, you are amazing.
So the adventure continues and today I think I get to use the giant floor stripping machine.Stop in and say Hi! 2416 London road, if I seem a littel goofy, well thats' just me or maybe its all the chemicals I'll be inhailing while stripping the floor!!
