Blog needs a facelift!!!

Good morning!!!
As you can see from the blog it is undergoing some changes! A little face life if you will!
But for some reason, I am having a very difficult time getting the new template in place, sooooooo if anyone is template blogger savy, I would LOVE for you to meet up with me at the salon and help me!! It could be really FUN!! And I make the best coffee!!
So lots and lots going on at the salon! Not to mention at the boutique and the art studio!
God has been so GRACIOUS and we are expanding and growing, not in a prideful way but in a very HUMBELING way.
For the first time in my life I feel like I am exactly where I am supposed to be, doing what I was called to do, CREATED for! Finding my PURPOSE in this life has opened my heart in so many ways, I can't even begin to explain!
Yes, I find purpose in being a Mom, I LOVE my girls more than anything, I LOVE being a wife, and a friend! I find so much JOY in being a hair stylist and cultivating all these BEAUTIFUL relationships, but this is different, it's all coming together, like the threads of a quilt. all woven together to create this beautiful tapestry! And more than anything it's humbeling, that God would give me these DESIRES of my heart and fullfill them. Not that it's been an easy road, it's been alot of sleepless nights, nights away from the people I love,alot of PRAYERS, answered and not answered, questions , doubts, and fear.
Fear of failing, fear of not being good enough, fear of not meeting everyones expectations.
But I realize I can't meet everyones expectations, I can't please all people, I will let people down ,and I will make mistakes. and you know what? That's ok!
I'm just one person, and in the end what matters most is that I gave it my best shot, I followed the call of God on my life. And that's an AWESOME feeling!
I have done none of this on my own, I couldn't.
This has been more than opening just another salon in town, this has been a walk of faith.Psalm 119 I think I couldv'e written, but verse  105 
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
    a light on my path.

These words have carried me. even though I know I'm following the call on my life, as I mentioned it hasn't all been easy. So many times I cried out to God asking Him if I heard him right and if I did why has it been so difficult!

I feel like this light to my path is a tiny little LED key chain light, I NEED a flood light! I need to know for sure and to see. But He wants me to walk by faith and is giving me just enough light for each step.

A few days after I shared this with some close friends I went to a buisness expo and a booth was handing out LED keychain lights! My heart lept out of my chest, to me it was confirmation.

So if you dare, emabark upon this journey with me at the salon the boutique and in the art studio. And if it isn't for you I know you will find the place your heart is yearning for.

Thank you for all of your support, encouragemnet and referrals! This place is even more wonderful because of everyone of you who have stepped in those doors!

I will get the facelift finished and after that continue to get back to regular blogs!

                                HELP TYLER GRANT p.s grab a tissue       

In this business we meet so many people, and become very close to them as well. It’s hard not to when you see them on a regular basis and so often we share so many milestones together.

Let me tell you about a very special family.

You know the kind of family that you just want to be apart of because they are so filled with  so much love for each other and are always smiling and embracing every moment of life together, no matter what is happening, all the while making everyone else in their life feeling special.

That’s the Grant family.

I started doing Janelles hair over 10 years ago! I have also done the hair of her two beautiful daughters and her very handsome son Tyler, but for some reason I don’t think her husband Rick trusts me yet with his!!(just kidding!)

These years have flown by! Our girls have gone to high school together, I have seen them sing at the high school, Janelle has been to my daughters plays, and the list goes on!

ILOVE this family! I LOVE the friendship that The Lord has blessed me with , with her over the years.

Unfortunately her son Tyler was born with a RARE LIVER DISEASE, here is what Janelle emailed  about him

“Here is a bit about Tyler. He has a non curable liver disease called Autoimmune Hepatitis. He was diagnosed with this in first grade. It is a rare type of liver disease and they do not know a lot about it. He is now 21 and is in need of a lover transplant. Any help would be greatly appreciated in regards with the costs of the transplant and with the costs of having to stay there afterward for six to eight weeks in Rochester. Prayers are also always appreciated too!”

I know Tyler is in college and is an avid bowler in Chippewa and wins all kinds of tournaments! But now all of that is on hold, while he awaits this life saving transplant, sadly there has not been a live donor match in his family.

He is currently living at home with his family, traveling to and from Rochester for continuous testing and such.

Insurance isn’t covering it all, so far the debt is over 50 grand! And the bills continue to come in!

Please consider the following:

1-    Come to our LEMONADE STAND this week at the salon! Estella has been baking all day and will be there all week!

2-    Pray pray pray!! Pray for a match or an organ donor. Also please keep the other family in prayer that will be losing a loved one as that organ saves another life!

3-    -Consider making a DONATION to the Grant family!

4-    Tell others and spread the word in ways they can help!

HAPPY SPRING!!!!

Happy Spring!
I LOVE this time of year! Just like  New Years Eve, I feel like this is a fresh start. Not just in my own life, but with everything!

A new beginning! At home, with me, my family, my friends and definately at the salon!
Lots and lots of EXCITING things have been happening!
And of course the words' I HAVE AN IDEA' are not far from my mouth!!
I have a BAZILLION AMAZING and CREATIVE ideas just swirrilng around in my brain!! Im sure not all of them will come to life this year, but that's ok! God wiliing they will in the right time!
So a littel overview for those of you who are new to the salon'art studio and my blog!

Our 1 year was the first week of February!  YEAH!!!! We made it !!!

We have met lots of WONDERFUL people and many BEAUTIFUL relationships are being built and lots of FABULOUS hair days are in store for them!! I am so EXCITED for who else we will get to know!
I wish I wouldv'e kept track but I think we have given away more than 100 FREE haircuts!!!! ( we have teamed up with local family support shelter)
Volunteered at different health clinics , raised money for a giant bag of rice for orphans in Liberia, given Easter baskets to people in need of basic things, and to just ease the burdeon of travel expenses for trips to the Dr for cancer treatments. Given away about 100 free pedicure gift cards at various fundraisers for people in the community fighting cancer and other health crisis.

And theres more! I say these things not out of bragging or a prideful heart, I just want everyone to know that The Lord is good, He has blessed us through all of you, and if it was not for you, we could not of done these things! I am anxiuosly excited to see what this year holds!

I was able to lease the building next door and we have DOUBLED are size!!! Sowe have started our art classes! YEAH!!!! So nice to be in this larger space! Our previous room was abput 10 square feet!!

WOWZER!!! I could keep going but some things I have to keep under wraps a bit longer!!
So there it is and overview of our first year! And a few things yet to come! ( yes I still have a problem with proper form and gramar!) But I do my best and that is what matters right?!

Happy LOVE month!!! SALES!!!

Happy LOVE month everyone!
As you know I LOVE love stories, real and fictional, my favorites are The Notebook, Sleeping Beauty and City of Angels. I LOVE laughter and all things SPARKLY, I LOVE a great cup of coffee with a FRIEND, I LOVE my FAMILY, my friends, little fuzzy dogs. I LOVE watching the sun go down over the water, dosen't matter if it's a lake, river stream or ocean, it's my favorite place.
There's just so much BEAUTY all around, how can I not see so much to LOVE?
Finding the LOVELY in the not so lovely is not always so easy though is it? I've been challenging myself the last few years to see it though, if you follow my other blogs you have read alongside this journey with me. It's not always so BEAUTIFUL. How can you see LOVELY on the face of a homeless addict with a frozen beard? I see it underneath as the slightest GLIMMER of thankfullness when delivered a fresh hot cup of coffee, or how do you see LOVELY when disease has left the body ragged and worn? I have seen it in the tears of a life well loved and lived, recounting BEAUTIFUL memories, and I've felt it in the last hours knowing eternal peace is coming. How do you see LOVELY on the face of someone you have wronged? I have wronged and let down many in my life. I have seen it through forgiveness, it's not easy to look at myself in the mirror and see LOVELY all the time, but I can when I appologize, find forgivenss and realize I can be free. I have the key to my own locked heart.
This month, I want to CELEBRATE LOVE all month, not just on Valentines day!
I want you to SEE how lovely you are, not just on the outside but from within. I want you to FEEL so lovely you just RADIATE it!!

`The Elijah Project

Many of you have inquired at the salon, 'what is going on next door'!!!!
Very EXCITING stuff for sure!!! The space is completely remodeled and a walk through has been made in our salon lobby to the new side!
My FABUOLUS husband and I are working around the clock, CREATING some AMAZING art and other things to get the studio ready to open!!! Then the boutique will open at the same time!! My estimated time is mid February!
Our new website is 99% done!! As soon as it goes to cyber print I will post the address!
Please stay connected, we have so many WONDERFUL things just around the corner and I don't want anyone to miss out!
Many of you are EAGERLY awaiting the new classes and sign up! I can tell you this, the first class is  set up for Sat March 16th from 10-4
This will be lead by world renowned Author and Counselor , LCSW Clinical Social Worker and someone I am blessed to call friend , Andrea Polnaszek, and co-lead by myself, Destiny Jackson. I have no fancy title to my name, the only thing I can say is liscensed stylist, given the gifts by God to encourage, listen with understanding, , walk this journey with you with a hot cup of coffe, a paintbrush, and a little laughter mixed on with some tears.
